Dhanteras falls on Friday 6 November 2026. Gold, silver and utensils are familiar traditional purchases.
Think about the jewellery already at home, as well as any new pieces. Give each a place after the celebrations.
Customs vary by region and family. Ask what your household plans before choosing a surprise.
Choose within your budget. A useful new item for the home can suit your family's Dhanteras plans.
